AI Service Streamlines Information Flow: “A Challenge for Many Companies”

From live-streaming padel matches to shaping the future of internal communication? Plailab, led by Jimmy Lindström and Joel Enhörning, has launched Newstail – an app that delivers a personalized podcast tailored to each user’s interests.
“The user should receive the information they need, when they need it,” says Jimmy Lindström.
The company was founded in 2020, in the midst of the booming padel trend. Initially, they live-streamed padel matches through a play service, but since then the company has pivoted multiple times. After developing an AI-powered analytics engine for racket sports, they decided to continue building services where AI can make a real difference.
The result? Newstail.
“Newstail creates customized audio news based on the user’s interests or area of expertise. It scans news from around the world and curates the most relevant content for each user – then compiles it into a personalized podcast,” says Lindström.
The service adapts to the user’s selected criteria and can cover everything from favorite football players to critical internal communication and company updates.
“Internal communication is a challenge for many businesses. Newsletters via email, Teams, or other platforms often create too many channels. With Newstail, every employee can receive all essential updates in one audio podcast – including internal news, competitor analysis, and trend reports,” Lindström explains.
Newstail has the potential to boost employee engagement by helping staff feel more informed and involved, while also supporting professional development in their specific fields. This often leads to greater satisfaction, productivity, and profitability.

From B2C to B2B
Plailab initially envisioned Newstail as a B2C product. But after running tests, they decided to pivot toward the B2B segment – a move that also required several technical adjustments. They’ve also been working through a comprehensive legal process, as combining AI and legal compliance can be complex.
“Right now, our focus is on verifying the user experience and ensuring a smooth product flow,” says Lindström.
He continues:
“By the end of 2025, we hope to have a market-ready product and, with the right strategy and partnerships, establish ourselves in the market.”
Plailab is part of the startup program at Science Park Skövde. Through the program, they’ve gone through an Investment Readiness Process and gained access to vital contacts and networks.
“Science Park Skövde has supported us every step of the way. Everything about Science Park promotes forward-thinking and encourages the global reach of local innovations. Being part of this environment has meant a great deal to us,” Lindström concludes.
